A North African friend once translated the phrase "far from home" as "far from my mountain". And we all are - my little family of four and the tens of thousands of North Africans who are my neighbors in this sprawling refugee camp. It's not all playing out like any of us hoped it would, but we are finding fragments of beauty to pick up and treasure on our long walk together.
These are letters to the women who share the walk with me, on different sides of several oceans.
Hey, I found one of those in my bathroom today too... weird how alike we are. Miss you!!!
